Novelist Anne Rice announced on her Facebook page that she is no longer a Christian.

For those who care, and I understand if you don’t: Today I quit being a Christian. I’m out. I remain committed to Christ as always but not to being “Christian” or to being part of Christianity. Rice’s publisher confirmed that she did post the above.

Raised as a Catholic, she had rejected the church early in her life, but renewed her faith in recent years and in 2008 released the memoir “Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession.”
